Stellarium is a program that allows to simulate a planetarium and to appreciate the stars, constellations, planets, satellites and other components of the solar system; In three-dimensional form, with great detail and accuracy, as if you were looking through a telescope.
This application is very useful for those who study or are interested in astronomy, who can view more than 600,000 celestial bodies present in the application, and know views of the sky that can not be seen to be visible only from the opposite hemisphere.
With this application you can also simulate and observe astronomical phenomena such as eclipses, movements of the planets and meteor showers, among others. Zoom in and out of the selected location.
Another interesting aspect of Stellarium is that you can indicate the position of the planet from where you want to observe the sky, simulating as it is what could be appreciated from that place.
In the project site there is a wiki, where you can consult documentation, and access different elements that can be added, such as plugins and extra landscapes.
Stellarium 0.15.2 is the latest version (updated in March 2017) of this software that can be downloaded for free. Works for Windows, Mac and Linux; And is available in Spanish.
