Bixby is running late: Galaxy S8 wizard will not support voice commands on its way out

Bixby is running late: Galaxy S8 wizard will not support voice commands on its way out

It is clearly one of the strengths of Samsung's perfect proposal, but some peros are already appearing. Anyone who has the possibility to buy a Galaxy S8 on April 21 will not be able to chat with Bixby, the voice assistant.

We anticipate the people of Verge, they have been told that Bixby will not be in full condition in the phone game: will lack voice control, which will arrive in a software update sometime in the spring, rather ending the same.

We must understand that this is not a specification, is one of the points with which the Korean company wants to sell its star phone. Not in vain has created a physical button with the main mission of invoking the wizard (fortunately can be used for more things).

The wizard is not only a method of communicating with the phone via voice, has other functions that we commented at the time of the presentation, and those yes will be present. We talk about image searches through Vision-augmented reality -, reminders or Home functionality. Which will allow us to manage other gadgets over the phone.

The promise of Samsung is that everything you can do in a tactile way, you end up doing it with the voice. We find it really strange that something like that has been left half cooked at the time of its actual departure to the market.

Bixby is Samsung's bid to compete in the burgeoning world of voice assistants who command Siri, Alexa, Cortana, or Google Now.

Like all of them, Bixby depends on the cloud to work, but according to Samsung does not require as much processing power to be there, and possibly we will see it spread soon through the rest of the phone book.
