Alcatel introduces the Flash, a smartphone with 4 photo sensors

Alcatel introduces the Flash, a smartphone with 4 photo sensors

Megalomania ? Alcatel gives a new thrust to the race to the sensors by integrating 4 photo modules on its latest, the Flash.

A few years ago, the manufacturers were content with two photo sensors, one at the back of the phone and the other at the front. Carried by Huawei and its P9, smartphones that integrate two cameras in the back are increasing in number ; Alcatel does not hesitate to see squarely bigger and offers with its well named Flash four cameras, two in the back, two in the front.

Like the  Huawei P9  or P10, the first rear sensor takes the picture in color, the second is specialized in monochrome. Both have 13 Mpx. The story does not say whether the two elements can also work together to simulate a depth of field. Both objectives open at f / 2.0. In any case, the capture of images can be done in RAW format, in order to give the user a greater latitude to work the photo. The video recording goes up to 4K.

As for the two front sensors, the first one has a definition of 8 Mpx, the second is satisfied with 5 Mpx. You guessed it, the advantage of the configuration is to allow selfies with a bokeh in the background. Much more class. Alcatel is not the first to think of integrating two front-end cameras: LG, at the end of 2015 with the V10 (marketed only in North America), had already implemented this idea.

To rotate such a combination of sensors, Alcatel uses the 10 cores of the Mediatek Helio X20 mobile chip (2 Cortex A72 cores at 2.3 GHz, 4 cores Cortex A53 at 1.9 GHz and 4 cores Cortex A53 at 1.4 GHz) and 3 GB of RAM . The battery is good on paper, with 3100 mAh.

The IPS screen of the Flash is 5.5 "in full HD resolution (1920 x 1080px), a density of 401 dpi. Connectivity is provided by 4G LTE, USB-C port, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi -Fi 802.11 / b / g / n A fingerprint sensor at the back completes the package No price or launch date has been announced for the Flash, which is according to the Alcatel website Available for the moment in the Arabian Peninsula. 4 cores Cortex A53 clocked at 1.9 GHz and 4 cores Cortex A53 clocked at 1.4 GHz) and 3 GB of RAM.
